WordPress Basic Training.
You want a website that allows you full access, control over the design, that you can add to over time. It could be for your portfolio, product, service, community group, or writing. As long as you’re not too fussy, and your requirements are modest, you can set one up for free at WordPress.com in minuites.
However, the free version of WordPress may not be enough for your needs. When you need your website to do something specific, you have to research.
We’ve done the research, and can assist you in the planning, design, creation, and management of your WordPress website. You don’t need coding skills to control the look, functionality, and content. With the right advice, tools, and a little learning, you can achieve a high quality WordPress website with minimum effort.
We’ll sit down with you, draw up a plan, and create your website with you. The intention is that, by the end of it, you can maintain it for yourself. And for anything that’s beyond our capabilities, we can advise on hiring freelance talent to do the hard bits.
You just need to type out what you want to say, what domain name you’d like, and have the photos you want to use, at hand. Between us, we can get your website up and running.
Planning your WordPress website.
Planning exactly what you want your website to do in advance will save you significant time in the long term. We’ll help here, and with your input, we’ll create a document detailing the design, structure, and any technical requirements, however simple or complicated. This process reveals the costs you’re likely to incur along the way.
Evaluating the cost of your WordPress website.
We can then identify the easy jobs, and decide how to get the difficult bits done: Is there a plugin that will do it for us? Will Mac Thing’s modest coding skills be enough? Or will you need to hire a freelance specialist? What type of web hosting package is appropriate for your needs?
Creating your WordPress website.
We’ll sit down with you, and create the website, explaining the bits you need to know as we go. On top of WordPress, we use the following building blocks to achieve high quality websites with limited resources, minimum effort, that look great across various devices, and are compliant with modern standards (because Google loves modern standards!):
