I watched a YouTube video of someone’s AI predictions for the coming years. His past predictions haven’t been entirely accurate. Regardless, Mac Thing is looking increasingly obsolete, as big change is upon us!
It’s time to get stuck into AI, and rather than being unemployed by the end of the decade, maybe I could earn serious cash! But where to start? Another video, How I’d Learn AI (If I Had to Start Over), differentiated between AI consumers, and builders. I’ll never be a coder, or mathematician, but she makes the point that to be employable for all the niche opportunities that will arise in the coming years, you need to understand how AI works, and you can only do this by getting your hands dirty. She also advises to keep records of your progress, which is what I’ll do here. Her PDF ‘roadmap’ (in description of above mentioned video) sounds a sensible starting point for me.
So, that’s the ‘learning how it works’ part, which will keep me occupied for the coming years, and beyond. But what about as a consumers of AI, how can we benefit? In order to find out I’ll need to begin integrating the tools into every moment of every working day. And at each turn, no doubt, a multitude of questions will be raised. I’ll be reporting back on this, too.
